Message from Mr. Bevacqua

Dear Students and Parents,

As of January 5th I am going to take an extended medical leave from Weathersfield School. I hope to return for the start of the 09-10 School Year, next September.
I am working with our school board to set up arrangements regarding administration. All will be notified in December as soon as that process has been completed.
In late spring, I may be available by email and phone for some administrative duties and planning. When that time comes, Jen Congdon, School Secretary, will notify the appropriate parties.
Respectfully, Mario Bevacqua

Mario Bevacqua, Superintendent/Principal

Weathersfield Schools Mission Statement

Cultivate Learning Today--Create a Better World Tomorrow

Weathersfield strives to make available to all students a sound basic education in the traditional scholastic disciplines. Opportunities for enrichment are offered through academics, athletics, and in the arts. We are dedicated to providing for our children a safe, well-maintained place in which to learn, a sensitive and academically superior faculty, and a motivational framework to encourage them to their highest level of achievement. In order for our schools to both reflect and lead our community, we seek to promote a healthy discourse among parents, community members, students and staff. It is our intent to encourage and reinforce the ideals of personal and social responsibility, and to nurture in our students a respect for themselves and an understanding of others.

Safe Routes to School
Latest News
Monday, 01 June 2009
The Weathersfield School, in partnership with the Town and the Southern Windsor County
Regional Planning Commission, has been awarded a “Safe Routes to School” planning
grant. This federally-funded program encourages children in grades K-8 to walk and bike
to school. Weathersfield will now join other Safe Routes to School teams around the
country who are working to:
1. Provide education on pedestrian and bicycle safety to our schoolchildren.
2. Keep driving speeds slow near the school and enforce traffic laws near school
grounds.
3. Provide incentives and encouragement to our schoolchildren and parents in the
pursuit of walking and biking to school each day.
4. Develop a school travel plan and identify barriers to safe walking and biking routes.
For more information about the grant and how you can help or participate, please contact
Principal Hart. For more information about the Safe Routes to School program, go to
